Teachers have the option to learn in live group sessions or participate in self-paced learning through the PLA training portal. Additionally, we offer mentorship for new teachers and clear pathways to career progression with our Pathways to Leadership Program and our paid Principal in Residence (PiR) program.
Student Loan Forgiveness & Support Phalen Leadership Academies is a non-profit 501(c)(3). Due to your dedication and public service, you may qualify for student loan forgiveness. Our Human Resources Department works with you on understanding your eligibility. We also assist you in completing loan forgiveness applications.
Leverage Integrated Technology Integrating technology in the classroom is crucial to success for our teachers and scholars. We provide our teachers with the technology that allows immediate access to student data and adaptive learning programs to create classroom experiences that prepare scholars for the future. All of our scholars are also provided with technology for in-school and at-home learning.
Appreciation & Recognition Year-Round We truly value our teachers and staff and work to show gratitude regularly for their role in our schools and scholars’ success. School jobs are the most important jobs. We work to show our gratitude for our staff each and every day.
Additional Income Opportunities Many of our teachers earn extra money during the summer because PLA offers summer jobs for teachers and staff. Our teachers earn extra money by working in our schools with our summer programming partners. PLA teachers get first priority placement in school summer programming. Teachers are also able to apply to lead program sites.
Dependent Participation in Free Summer Program & Free Job Training Program Do you have a school aged child? We can help them to stay engaged with learning over the summer. Many PLA sites offer summer enrichment programs. PLA staff dependents can participate in summer camps and summer programming at their local PLA school. PLA family members are also eligible to attend PLA University, the organization's free adult job training program.
