  • WHAT IS A CHARTER SCHOOL?

    Charter schools are tuition-free, open-enrollment public schools. We have no district or catchment zones but instead can enroll any student who lives in Indiana. Charter schools have increased autonomy, the ability to make curricular, financial, and hiring decisions, and increased accountability. Promise Prep is authorized by the Indianapolis Mayor’s Office of Education Innovation.

  • WHO CAN ATTEND PROMISE PREP?

    Any student enrolling in Kindergarten (5 years-old by September 1, 2020), 1st, and 2nd grade can attend Promise Prep.

  • WHAT GRADES ARE CURRENTLY BEING ENROLLED?

    For the 2021-2022 school year, we are currently enrolling scholars for Kindergarten, 1st Grade and 2nd Grade. We will add a new grade level each year until we are a full K-6 school serving just over 250 scholars and families. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • WHAT MAKES PROMISE PREP SPECIAL?

    We are committed to figuring out how to create the best academic conditions for each student. We are committed to family partnerships in education. Our students participate in recess and enrichment classes (performing arts and sports).

  • DOES PROMISE PREP PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION?

    Promise Prep does offer limited transportation with satellite routes. We open our doors at 8:30am and dismiss at 3:30 pm. Promise Prep has a partnership with the Finish Line Boys and Girls Club (at 38th and Post) and are able to offer free transportation to their site where students can participate in their after school care for only $25 for the entire year.

  • WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE POLICY AT PROMISE PREP?

    Our uniform code allows our students to focus on their academics. Our students wear black Promise Prep polos, khaki bottoms, and closed toed tennis shoes. In colder weather, we have Promise Prep sweaters available for purchase as well. You can check out more information on our uniform page.(add link to uniform page)

  • WHAT ARE THE HOURS OF OPERATION AT PROMISE PREP?

    The Promise Prep school day runs from 8:30am-3:30pm Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, in order to allow our teachers and staff to participate in weekly professional development training, our students are dismissed at 1 pm.

    Doors open at 8:30am and students are considered tardy if they arrive later than 9:00 am
