GVP Scholars Travel by Studying the Arts Around the World

hello in multiple languages George and Veronica Phalen Leadership Academies’ art students are exploring the world through their classrooms--creating diverse art and visuals.

In August, scholars explored the art of Australia. Sixth graders decorated "didgeridoos" with Aboriginal symbols.  Fourth and Fifth graders created” X-ray" style paintings. Third grade's art was inspired by Aboriginal face paintings. Second graders used chalk and oil pastels to recreate Aboriginal Hand cave paintings.

The art of Asia is on their travel itinerary for fall.  Scholars have already begun creating amazing shape collages inspired by Chinese Panda bears, Chinese Dragons, India's Painted Elephants, and Japanese meal collages.
