March is National Reading Month! It was designated to motivate Americans of all ages to read every day. To encourage reading as a daily habit, GVP is hosting a Reading Challenge in the Media Center between now and Spring Break.

Scholars visiting the Media Center will be given a reading log and time to cozy up, relax, and read books! The amount of time spent reading plus pages read will be tallied on the logs and recorded each week. Each day scholars will share their stats and reading progress. 

Our teachers will also work to support scholars’ reading challenge by promoting self-selected reading in their classrooms. On March 20th, the classroom with the highest combined total of minutes read will be awarded a $50 gift certificate for the Spring Book Fair.

In addition, all scholars will take home a Spring Break Reading Challenge Reading Log so that they can compete individually for their very own $50 book fair gift certificate.
