GVPLA Building Leader, Ms. Knox, has been nominated to receive The African-American Excellence in Education Award.

The award is sponsored by the Indy Chapter of the Indiana Black Expo and is designed to honor outstanding public-school professionals who are making a difference in the lives of their students and inspiring their colleagues.

Educators who receive this award exhibit passion and commitment to the teaching profession; innovation and creativity in the classroom; leadership in developing positive school culture; instructional leadership; and highly effective communication and collaboration skills.
