Thea Bowman Leadership Academies (TBLA) Middle/High School in Gary, announced today that their 2018 graduating class has been awarded scholarships that total $1,319,154.43.

The TBLA graduating scholars who are enrolling in 4-year institutions collectively received 241 acceptance offers from 62 different universities.

A representative of TBLA said, “We are proud of the hard work and dedication our scholars have demonstrated over their time at TBLA and are grateful to the educational institutions that have rewarded that hard work by demonstrating a commitment to the next stage of their education.”

TBLA’s ultimate vision is that their scholars master key academic skills, and demonstrate strong character, as exhibited by: honesty, service to others, a superior work ethic, and a strong vision for and belief in their futures.
